What makes you happy?

There are so many things that could make me happy. My family should be on top of that, whenever we're all together and no fights between each member. Second is when a person accepts you for who you are and what you are; it's just a sign that you belong in their circle without trying so hard. :)

In your opinion what makes a person beautiful inside and out?

A person is beautiful inside and out when she shows her true self in the crowd without trying to be anybody else. You have your own unique personality that will let you shine through even in the darkest places.

Do you believe internal beauty is just as important as eternal beauty?

External beauty would be nothing if there was no internal beauty. These two things must be in balance, but nowadays, it seems that there's an inequality between these two. Some people are pretty, yet, they have a such bad attitude. Internal beauty makes a person complete. With external beauty, although, your outside appearance is complete, your inner self is empty since you only look at the outside.

How would you define beauty?

Beauty is how you define yourself and how you reveal yourself to the world. It is being true to yourself and allowing others to get to know the real you. Beauty is having confidence and being comfortable in your own skin and also loving and accepting yourself.

Have you ever gone through a period in your life when you just didn't feel beautiful? If so, how did you overcome it?

I've had several times in my life when I didn't feel beautiful. These feelings come and go and it's normal for me. One time was when I was a freshman in high school. All of my best girl friends had boyfriends and I was always the only one without a boyfriend. We were all a group and hung out together. It was awkward for me and I felt lonely for a long time. I eventually had my first boyfriend but that wasn't how I felt beautiful. I felt beautiful when I accepted my whole entire life; my culture, my family, my twig like body, etc. I was finally content and happy with the way I looked even though I had a ways to go with puberty. I was a slow bloomer. I felt beautiful when I was happy, out enjoying my life with friends, doing crazy teenage things, just having fun and getting high off of life and living. I was enjoying myself, doing things for myself, and smiling for myself.

What is your most beautiful aspect (inside & out)?

My most beautiful aspect inside is that I'm a caring person with good manners. I'm a lady. I've been volunteering and doing community service since elementary school. I care about my community, where I was born and raised, and I enjoyed it. It all started with donating food, clothes, beauty products to planting flowers, raising money, planning fundraisers, baking, going to shelters, etc. I mentored and tutored children where I went to elementary school and I always left the school with a smile on my face. It was worth every 2 hours of my week. I also volunteered with American Red Cross and I've always dreamed of donating my own blood, but I'm still under their weight limit. But one of these days it will be my time to donate my blood! I was also part of a club in high school called Random Acts of Kindness. People were forgetting their manners and forgot how to be nice. We all became a family and our mission was to spread kindness =)

My outer beauty is my sweetness. I was born a sweet, cute girl. It shows with my style of clothing. I guess it also shows in my voice (not a little girl's voice). I mean that my voice isn't harsh, it's soft, and soothing. When I model, my modeling style is cute. It's my nature and it's part of who I am. The innocent, sweet girl.

Do you believe internal beauty is just important as external beauty? Why or why not?

External beauty is not very significant to us as humans. It might be to the media, but everything in the media is artificial. It's not reality. Internal beauty is a reflection of external beauty. You're beautiful when you've learned how to love yourself. Personality completes ones beauty. So it's important to know who you are and to love every part of yourself.

What inspires you?

What inspires me in life is to make other people smile and have happy thoughts. My blog is focusing on the fact of being happy with who you are, and for an example how you can change the way you live to make yourself a happier person.

"Maybe I'm not good enough for you, but I have friends, family and people who think I am good enough.. and thats enough for me!" And the most important is that I think that I'm good enough - and don't give in to negative response :)

What inspires you?

Nearly everything inspires me in life but my greatest inspiration is music.

There's always a song to match my mood and sometimes the lyrics motivate me to do better.

Music also cheers me up and makes me feel better about myself and who I am!

I am also inspired by Marilyn Monroe because she overcame her own personal obstacles in life and became someone big and successful!

Everyday, all I see is people bringing each other down with insults and horrible comments.

Most people do this because they are either jealous or think they are superior to everyone else.

But everyone is beautiful in their own way and by insulting others, they make those people insecure.

I know how it feels to be insecure so I would never make someone else feel that way. When someone doesn't feel good about themselves or has made an effort to look good but no one has noticed, I'll always compliment them. Complimenting doesn't only make the person feel good, but also yourself.

Smiling and positivity makes you beautiful!

In your opinion, what makes a person beautiful inside and out?

The most important thing that make somebody beautiful inside and out is confidence. When people know their qualities, no matter what they are, and when they are feeling good about themselves - only then people can feel genuine happiness. And happiness always shines through.

What do you do in your everyday life to make others feel good about themselves? Or what could you do?

Giving a compliment or smiling at someone is a small thing that every one of us can do and it can mean a lot to others. Always be ready to help other people, encourage them and be there for them any time they need you. And make sure that everybody knows that beauty comes from the inside.

What would you like to see the media do to help expand the definition of beauty?

Everyone knows that the media is creating the definition of beauty that none of us can achieve. Maybe not every commercial has to be full of gorgeous men and women, sometimes it would be nice to see a regular girl next door with a few kilograms more then Twiggy, with her breast size A or B and with her legs with some cellulite. That way everyone will feel better, knowing that there are other people out there that are not "perfect". The media can also stop using photoshop, but my opinion is that people need their confidence to grow and the media can make television shows that will help people to see that each and every person is beautiful and unique.

Every thing and everyone around me! Especially my family and friends! They inspire me a lot; they help me through every single challenge in my life. They're really important to me.

Yes, I am now. I used to hate myself alot, I would point out every non-perfect thing about me, wich made me so unhappy and made me feel like I was in a big war with myself. But then I started to realize, that all the unhappiness came from my own thoughts. Everyone must be at peace with themselves; it's really important.

If someone came up to you and told you they don't believe they are good enough and they think they're worthless, what would your response be?

Nobody is wothless. It's not smart to say that you're not good enough or that you're worthless, you're making yourself unhappy, and everyone will see that you don't feel confident about yourself, and that's a bad thing. You have to feel confident about yourself. Nobody's perfect; remember that. Everyone is beautiful and special in their own way.

The only opinion that matters is my own. Everything else is just advice. So, in case they don't in believe me, they're the ones who loose for not having me beside them.

Actually, this has happened to me several times in different forms and my response has always been the same.

"YOU ARE ONLY AS 'GOOD' as you believe yourself to be". Your thoughts are so powerful and they attract every experience in your life like bee's to honey.

There can be ten million people standing in front of you, giving you praises and shouting out how much they believe in you & love you yet it all means nothing if YOU, yourself don't believe it. We don't have to work hard for feeling good or "worthy" and it's not something that we can purchase or find through someone else. It all goes back to feeling that love energy within ourselves that we were born with & that we have always had. Whether you want to call it God, source, Love, energy - we all have the power to claim it, feel it, utilize it OR NOT! I truly believe that its this connection with our higher self that differentiates ourselves from being for or against our well being.

In short, my response is always something close to being, "Don't listen to the voice or feeling that makes you believe that you AREN'T good enough. No need to practice negative thoughts because they will only bring you negative results. SIMPLY STATED! Practice Finding and feeling the things that you ARE great at and that make you feel good and start there and just milk it until you can't milk it anymore :) You have to start somewhere. Even if it feels like something so small for ex: you feel good about yourself because you give great hugs - THAT'S AMAZING! Start there, start anywhere!" This will be the turning point of your life and you will then always be in a constant place of evolving and expanding your beautiful self.

A person is already beautiful on the inside and outside from the moment we enter this physical world We all unfortunately forget (or were never taught or had no cultivation of this knowing from birth.). To even take it further we are ALL LOVE, we are made up of energy flowing from a stream of well being which is pure love. There is only love. When we feel or experience things such as hate, ugliness, lack, negativity etc we are only cutting ourselves off from the beautiful love stream that is our birthright. Most of us pick up learned behaviors from our environments & our culture that teach us to view ourselves and others "without" love (but that's a whole other conversation..) In short - what makes a person beautiful is just being EXACTLY WHO YOU ARE! We are all unique individuals as we shouldn't have to pretend or hide our beautiful selves. We live in societies that put pressures and unrealistic expectations on our "physical apperarances" which take us away from truly experiencing beauty which starts from inside. Don't get me wrong - physical beauty is a wonderful human trait however it is all relative and in the eye of the beholder. In my opinion feeling good about yourself, loving who you are, believing in your dreams, treating your mind, body & spirit with love is the secret. You will attract other people and experiences of "beauty" according to how you feel & vibrate. Doing this will nourish your inner core which will naturally result in your physical appearance also being a beautiful MATCH to your inner self. This is what will continuously keep our beauty flowing and constantly expanding.

What inspires you?

WOW! I am literally inspired EVERYDAY by so many people, places, things, smells, tastes, textures, sounds - you name it, I am INSPIRED BY IT!

A few examples: I'm inspired by color - I LOVE bright colors and different shades of color that compliment them. Music inspires me greatly. I'm always so grateful for my ability to hear. I love hearing the musical creations of others as it inspires me to always expand in my own music. I'm also inspired by the sounds that I hear throughout the day (the sounds of the city, the dogs barking, birds chirping, water dripping, keys jingling, garage door opening, wind blowing, my guitar strings humming, hands clapping, engines starting, rain falling.

Being a singer/songwriter I am constantly picking up inspirations throughout my day that I then mix & blend into my writing and performance. All inspirations of course come from my own life experience and how I choose to connect to them, like a magnet. I'm also inspired by conversations that I have with others, especially people that I just meet - that is always fun. I love hearing and sharing people's stories of love, hardship, transition, struggle, whatever it may be. I am a firm believer that we help each other live our best life through the sharing of our stories. It inspires me so much that I do a weekly radio show (The Purploptimisms Radio Show) that promotes inspiration.

I can truly be inspired by anything which is what makes life so exciting! I can be inspired by a child smiling at me, seeing people have a heartfelt laugh on the train, writing in my journal after feeling really good or sad about something then coming back to read it later to feel a different emotion rise - its ENDLESS. Just another one to throw in - the other day I looked outside and saw a bird's nest on the front porch, safe from all of the snow & rain. I was so excited and inspired that a family of birds chose my dwelling place to make their new home on. How inspirational is that? VERY! :)

Are you at peace with yourself?

Great question! YES INDEED, ABSOLUTELY, YES YES YESSSSSS! I truly am at peace with myself and it feels good to know it but also to realize and allow myself to continue my expansion of peace. It's not really a destination its an expansion. I believe when you have come to the point in life when you are AWARE that there is nothing that you can't do, nothing that you can't have or achieve & that you are full of wonderful love energy (always, now & forever.) then you feel your power and this makes you at PEACE! It's because you know that can do and be anything. No one can take that away from you. Being at peace doesn't mean that you have all the money and material desires that will make your life great! It has nothing to do with material wealth at all. You could be at peace where you are in your life without your physical surroundings reflecting your "wealthiest" desires yet. Being at peace is a mindset and a choice. There are no excuses, boundaries or barriers when it comes to the feeling. Again a reminder - when you are at peace with yourself and where you are at on our life journey how you feel on the inside will reflect on your outside. For example: you may be someone who isn't happy with themselves or not at peace with how far you have come due to many factors, say WEIGHT. You may look at yourself in the mirror and you only allow your ego to take control and judge how your feel by how you look. This is backwards. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be healthier and have less weight on your body but the thoughts and feelings that brought you to the current physical state that makes you feel unhappy is what needs to be addressed. You can start feeling AT PEACE right now, in the present, in the moment. You can choose to feel at peace with how far you have come and with all the life lessons that brought you to where you are now. The weight that you desire to release from your body (which is really weight, pressure & burden that you want to let go of from your emotions.) will come off when you start changing how your think & feel. Being at peace with who you are on ALL LEVELS will change your life for the better. It's a journey that never ends and no one will ever be "done" with it. We are always expanding.

I feel like I came to being peaceful with who I am and where I am due to living so much contrast of what I DIDN'T want in my life. I didn't know at the time that I wasn't at peace but I knew that I wasn't feeling satisfied or truly happy with where I was and with what I was doing. When you discover what you DON'T want you automatically know what you DO want - and then a new desire is born. I went through a period in my life where everything seemed like it was going downhill. I had no money, no job or prospects on the horizon, no home - I felt like I had hit rock bottom. When I hit this "bottom" it was the beginning of a new phase in my life. I had never lost hope for myself and always stayed optimistic about my situation and I always believed that somewhere, somehow I was going to make my dreams a physical reality. In the moment of what seemed like true despair an earth angel came to assist me in my time of need. It was this period that I spend much time in solitude and reflection just connecting with my spirit and learning how to live the life that I wanted. I didn't shut myself out from the world but I was in an environment that allowed me to spend ample time with JUST MYSELF which is exactly what I needed and desired. I wanted time to heal old wounds, to create and to learn what it is that I wanted out of my life. In this period I studied meditation, EFT, yoga & stretching and also changed my nutritional diet. I stopped eating meat and started eating organic foods and later decided on being vegan. All of these changes in my mind body and spirit allowed me to have clarity on my life and to appreciate every experience I had up to date. Everything I listed played a major role in being at peace where I am in my life today!

I am very happy with who I am and the path I have taken. I am happy for where I am headed as well. I am not done, by a long shot! It's an everyday lifestyle. No one is PERFECT, that should never be our goal. I am just so happy and grateful that I discovered and realize my inner power for where I am and I'm thrilled to share my stories and continue to inspire myself and be inspired by others.

THIS MAKES ME AT PEACE and allows me to continue the peaceful journey each day!

What makes you happy?

So many things do!

I would have to say my family and community. I've grown up with a big close family, and they all have shaped me to be who I am today.

Plus, I've grown up in a small community, which has taught me values and to be greatful for what I have.

The people that surround me in my everyday life always put a smile on my face.

I'm currently in grade 12, and have a graduating class of 24. I've grown up with pretty much all 24 kids since kindergarden, so we are all very close and know pretty much everything about each other, which can be a little weird but, they're friends, they're family.

One thing for the past year that has made me happy is that, the school board in our district is trying to shut down my school, and it makes me so happy that the community and the parents have gotten together to fight!!! Even people that dont have kids going to school anymore! and it just shows strength as individuals and as a community that we can change something that we all believe in. As the school closure hasnt happened, and we are trying to make sure it wont happen, we shown each other its good to fight in what you beilieve in. If the school were to shut down, kids would have to wake up at 5:00 and have up to a 2 hour bus ride to another school, and they wouldn't be able to take part in sports, drama productions, ect.

My nephew just started grade 1, and I want him to have the same experience I had, to be able to grow up with the same people he has been with since the beginning, to get involved in the community like I have, to be able to have the sense that this is home.

What inspires you ?
It's hard to say, I'm inspired by all the little thing in my life. Even a sunny day could be really inspiring or my favorite song playing when I wake up. My friends also really inspire me, they help me to live a better life, and to be a better person it's because of them that I am motivated to be a good person. But there's also many other things that inspires me: Music for example, I really like music; when I am sad I take my guitar and play it to make me happy.

In your opinion, what makes a person beautiful inside and out?
I think that a beautiful person is someone who is confident and who smiles a lot. Hair and skin colors doesn't matter, it's not important if you're tall or short, thin or fat. The most important thing is what you think of yourself when you look in the mirror. I think a beautiful person is also someone who is atlethic because people who practice sports are usually more confident and more happy. Finally a beautiful person loves what they wear, they don't wear it just because a celebrity did, but because they like it

Do you believe self-confidence is important? What are ways that someone can feel confident in themselves if they feel insecure about themselves at the moment?
Yes, Of course, I think this is the most important thing, but the sad thing about that is there's no recipe to have self-confidence.

What are your passions in life ?

I don't know if I can call them passions because I know that some people love the same things as me but they live for those things ! I really love fashion , my biggest dream is to work in a fashion magazine . I also love to bake cakes, to create surprising cakes; I seek perfection when I bake them !

If someone told you that you weren't good enough, what would your response be? Would you believe them?

I heard that plenty of times , from people that don't even know me . I think they're just jealous of my ambition & motivation . If someone I really love told me that , I think I`ll take that as a challenge & I will say to them " You`re gonna see , maybe I`m not good enough but I`m going to try hard & if you really are right , it's okay , I mean , I would have tried & it would have been a good experience , for sure " .

What inspires you?

So many things, it's really difficult to narrow it down now that I have to sit and think about it. I love really small things that life has to offer like a breezy sunny day or going to the beach. Things like that inspire me to keep going and living life, because they're small treasures that sometimes pop open different ideas or even just make you feel good. Creativity, fashion and style inspire me the most. The way designers can put together different pieces to make a collection that somehow fits together, it's by far my favorite type of art.

If someone told you that you weren't good enough, what would your response be? Would you believe them?

It would be very discouraging, especially if it came from someone who happened to be close to me and they honestly thought that. However it's happened before and my only weapon against it is to ignore them and move forward. Sure I may believe it at first if they gave me reasons as to why and I may even question myself, but then again who wouldn't? But if they felt like they really had to come out and tell me I wasn't good enough, for whatever reason it may have been, then maybe they have a problem with themselves. It's cliche, but I can only do my very best because aside from everyone else I know that I'm my own worst critic. I think what matters most at the end of the day is if I think I'm good enough.

In your opinion, what makes someone beautiful inside and out?

I think the most beautiful characteristic someone can have is the ability to see the beauty in everything and everyone else around them. One of my favorite quotes goes "Weeds are flowers too, once you get to know them." A truly beautiful person realizes that. They are humble, patient and they sometimes don't even realize how beautiful they are themselves. Some of the most beautiful people I've met are just that.

I'm the type of person who can find every little thing inspiring. It seems to me that a person cannot live without dreaming. Personally, I dream all the time. First, I dream and feel inspired by my dreams, then I make them come true. It works, believe me :) All my dreams, sooner or later, come true. Films, books, people inspire me not to give up. If someone doesn't feel good about themselves, I just have to find a positive detail or more than one positive detail and put the attention on them (for girl with make up or with a particular dress).

Beauty for me is something unique and special. We all are different so we all are beautiful in our own way. Everyone can see the external beauty. Only those who know and love us see our inner beauty. We all know the phrase: "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". I absolutely agree. When you really love somebody this person is lovely to you. To see your own beauty you need to be in harmony with yourself. It happens when your appearance and your soul are in agreement. It's also a kind of love. We call it self-confidence.

I think every one of us can help others feel good about themselves. It’s so easy. It won’t require any effort. All you have to do is to say a few nice words and compliments. Everyone would like to hear it. I always notice when someone looks good and tell him or her about it. It helps people to obtain confidence in themselves or or simply cheer them up.

Oh, it’s such a difficult question for me. I think that other people should judge especially if we talk about inside aspects. But I’ll try. To talk about exterior I'm really satisfied with my eyes. Thank God that he decided to give them to me. People say that there is something attracting, alluring and “magnetic’ in my sight. Beauty is a feeling that can only be discovered with time.

Have you ever gone through a period in your life where you just didn't feel beautiful? If so, how did you overcome it?

Most certainly. I grew up an insecure child. At 9, I felt distant from the majority of my classmates. They would tease me for being brown-skinned and having curly hair. I remember crying a lot whenever I came home because I would always be the last one to be picked in any group activities. It affected me tremendously and there were many times I didn’t feel like going out. During my teenage years I straightened my hair and applied foundation to have a lighter complexion. I got the attention but soon realised that I was just trying to fit in with the rest, hoping to be accepted. Over the years I started to question myself. I knew the person looking right back at me in the mirror, wasn’t me. It was a confusing period but I knew what I wanted. I started to accept myself and I did not allow myself to lose my identity for anyone. It was then that I discovered my true self and I have never felt more beautiful.

If someone came up to you and told you that they don't feel like they're good enough, what would your response be?

“You are worth more than you give yourself credit for. When you start believing that, you will step into a new world and see yourself in a new light.”

Love and Inspire Universally is the name of my blog. And I've realized that my blog has been solely about beauty inside and out, up until now. The goal of my blog has been to get as many girls to see that they truly are beautiful just as they are, inside and out. But, I want to expand on this.

Right now my blog is about beauty inside and out; believing in yourself and knowing that you are good enough just as you are. Being at peace with yourself and loving yourself for who you are.

But, this just doesn't feel like enough for me. I want my blog to also be about inspiration. I am inspired everyday by my surroundings, let it be by a song, a friend, a book, a quote, a stranger, etc. I become inspired extremely easily and I want this blog to be about inspiration also Because without inspiration, I would not be where I am today in my life. I would be lost and broken. I want to hear what inspires you. I want to hear what inspires you in your life to be a better person, what inspires you to think positive, what inspires you to chase after your dreams, what inspires you to help others, what inspires you to live!

My new goal for this blog: To help others get to a place where they are finally at peace with themselves, where they have learned how to love themselves for who they are, and where they believe in themselves.

And also to inspire others with the thoughts, opinions, and stories that are shared on here.

I want millions of people to be able to come here for inspiration.

Beauty is not just the physical attributes of a person, it is more than what meets the eye. Beauty has been stereotyped to models and celebrities but beauty can be seen in everyone. I am a late bloomer. My brother calls me ugly every time. I don't listen to him but sometimes it hits me. I thought to myself that he could never call me ugly again. All I did was to think of happy thoughts. And love myself more. No one's ever gonna love me if I myself don't. I do what makes me happy, like writing, singing and dancing, and reading books. I get in touch with my friends and do fun stuff together. That way, I keep the negatives thoughts away. And at the end of the day, I feel beautiful because I am happy.

Also, when I was in high school, I had a bad set of teeth. I only got my braces when I was about to enter college. As many people see it, having braces is dorky. But you know what, when I had my braces, it was like my shining moment. I felt beautiful and people started to approach me. But then, I realized that my braces wasn't the one who made this connection to the people around me, I made the connection, I let people see the real me. There's nothing to hide. I have let them see who really I am, the fun-loving, adventurous, jolly person.

What would you like to see the media do to help expand the definition of beauty?

I think the media should stop photoshopping pictures as much as they do. I think a little editing is okay, but when you start to change the shape of someone, that's too far. I also think that the media shouldn't focus on weight but more of personality I guess. Everyone is beautiful in their own way and the media masks that.

If a 5 year old girl came up to you and told you that she didn't see herself as beautiful, what would your response be?

I would hug her and tell her she is beautiful and that she shouldn't feel that she's not.

Beauty is an art. It's the harmonious relationship between your everyday life and aesthetics. It's normal to feel insecure. Everyone has a way to get rid of their insecurity. In my case it is: keeping myself busy with the things that I like, things that make me feel good, like working or paying sports. This somehow affects my self-esteem in a positive way, which also translates into feeling more beautiful.

MMM ... (laughs) I would say I like my smile and my eyes. They often reflect the truth of things. Internally, I would say my compassion for others and help others. It makes me feel good. The more years that pass, the more beautiful our internal beauty is:)

I believe that beauty is not "perfection" in a woman. It's not what most people think, to be thin and perfect, for what?
